Ainmane Estate sits in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, the heartland of Indian coffee. 'Ainmane' means the elder's house in the Kodava tongue, and the name carries its weight: these are old trees, managed with the restraint that comes from generational knowledge. The estate is best known for its Monsoon Malabar, processed through the traditional method of exposing parchment to seasonal monsoon winds off the Arabian Sea, a technique unique to India's southwestern coast, producing the characteristic round body and low acidity that distinguish Malabar from every other process in the country.
